Silver tabby Maine Coon kittens.
Bright silver ground, bold markings. Meet the two silver tabby queens at Ironmane Coons and learn what to expect from a silver kitten.
How silver tabby works
Silver comes from the inhibitor gene, which removes warm color from the undercoat. When the tabby pattern stays visible on top, you get a silver tabby. Black gives the classic high-contrast look; blue gives a softer, cooler one.
Markings and silver brightness keep changing for months, so we describe each kitten honestly once its coat settles.
